Engineering Manager - Account Experience

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for the merchant‑facing platform experience. The role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on technical involvement, overseeing onboarding, account management, workflow automation, monitoring, auditing and AI‑powered features.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team delivering merchant‑facing platform experiences with high quality, reliability and speed.
• Coach, mentor and develop engineers through performance management, career growth planning and continuous feedback.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical reviews, guiding decisions on scalability, latency, reliability and data integrity.
• Partner with Product leadership to define roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, identify risks and balance ambition with realistic execution.
• Drive operational excellence via monitoring, incident management, root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the evolution of AI‑powered merchant experiences while maintaining stability of existing platform capabilities.
• Recruit, hire and retain top engineering talent as the organization scales.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, high‑performance engineering culture in a remote‑first environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams with responsibility for delivery, performance and employee development.
• Strong technical background to evaluate system designs, identify architectural trade‑offs and guide engineering decisions.
• Experience building and operating large‑scale backend, infrastructure or platform systems where reliability and correctness are critical.
• Ability to lead in environments with limited process, high autonomy and evolving priorities.
• Strong judgment on technical governance, design reviews and escalation of complex challenges.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Experience hiring and building high‑performing engineering teams.
