Staff Nurse – Inpatient Team

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our small inpatient team at Cowal Community Hospital. The role involves delivering person‑centred care to patients admitted acutely, transferred for rehabilitation, and those requiring complex discharge planning, as well as providing palliative and end‑of‑life care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver nursing care for acute admissions and rehabilitation transfers.
• Coordinate complex discharge plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide high‑quality palliative and end‑of‑life care.
• Work closely with doctors, therapists and support staff to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to NHS policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (Band 5) with a current NMC registration.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and able to work effectively in a small team.
• Suitable for newly qualified nurses seeking to develop their skills.
• Commitment to delivering person‑centred, compassionate care.
