Accounting Manager (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead our remote accounting team and provide founders of eCommerce brands with clean, reliable financials. The role combines people leadership with full‑cycle accounting oversight in a tech‑forward, fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables.
• Oversee full‑cycle accounting tasks including reconciliations, month‑end close, and financial reporting across multiple client files.
• Maintain and improve UpCounting’s accounting processes and drive operational excellence.
• Communicate financial insights to clients, helping them understand their numbers and make informed decisions.
• Identify automation opportunities and collaborate with Controllers and senior leadership to build scalable workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in accounting management, preferably in a multi‑client or firm setting.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a calm, structured style.
• Proven track record of improving processes and using automation tools.
• Experience with FP&A or financial modeling is a plus.

Required skills

• High proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero (NetSuite is a bonus).
• Full‑cycle accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end close expertise.
• Comfort with automation and process optimization tools.
