About the role
The Marketplace Abuse Lead is responsible for safeguarding the integrity of Uber's platform by designing and executing strategies to detect, prevent, and mitigate abusive behavior. This role works closely with cross‑functional partners to ensure a safe and trusted experience for users.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing Marketplace Abuse team.
- Monitor abuse trends using data and analytics to spot emerging risks.
- Design and implement scalable rules, processes, and tools for abuse detection and mitigation.
- Collaborate with Operations, Product, Risk, Legal, Customer Support, and regional teams to strengthen prevention measures.
- Drive both long‑term strategic initiatives and time‑sensitive investigations.
- Report insights, trends, and impact of initiatives to senior leadership.
Required profile
- At least 5 years of experience solving complex analytical problems, preferably in technology or consulting.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, comfortable with ambiguity.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in SQL (required).
- Experience with Python or other analytical tools (preferred).
