Consultant Dermatologist

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Dermatologist to join a forward‑thinking department in Lanarkshire. The role offers the opportunity to shape a multidisciplinary service, develop subspecialty clinics and contribute to innovative clinical pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Lead active clinical referral triage, returning urgent cancer referrals with advice letters.
• Utilise high‑quality dermoscopic imaging to maintain skin‑cancer waiting times.
• Collaborate with pathology, paediatrics and regional dermatology teams to establish sub‑specialty clinics.
• Provide consultant‑led surgical training and work closely with plastic surgery and the shared Mohs service.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with dermatology pharmacists and specialist nurses.
• Drive quality‑improvement projects, patient‑safety initiatives and medical education activities.
• Engage in research supported by dedicated research nurses.

Required profile

• Qualified dermatologist with experience in medical dermatology and skin‑cancer pathways.
• Interest in developing subspecialty services and teaching junior staff.
• Commitment to research, quality improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Flexibility to work part‑time if desired.
