Hotel Industry Accountant – Financial Reporting & Reconciliations

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to support its portfolio of hospitality clients. You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities across multiple hotel properties.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounting tasks, prepare journal entries and support month‑end close to meet client deadlines.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity by cleaning up and resolving reconciling items.
• Master client‑specific hospitality platforms, ERP tools and reporting structures for independent execution.
• Deliver consistent, accurate service in line with standardized processes and stakeholder expectations.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property management or outsourced accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations and month‑end close cycles.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while communicating clearly with internal teams and clients.

Required skills

• Familiarity with hotel operations and revenue cycles.
• Experience or aptitude to learn Opera, POS platforms, Ottimate, Acumatica and ProfitSword.
